Congregational Care Notes With Pastor Larry Owen
ACTS 20:24, "But my life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus - the work of telling others the Good News about God's wonderful kindness and love." I'm NOT talking about plastering gospel tracks all over your office, or making people listen to a sermon before you give your sells presentation. I'm talking about LIVING is such a way that people will be knocking down your door to find out what is so special about you.
That's the foundation of Congregational Care. STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE IN A LIFESTYLE THAT SHOWS WHAT GOD'S WONDERFUL KINDESS AND LOVE LOOKS LIKE. |

| A word from worship ministry... Janelle and I are so grateful God has brought us to MHCC. We feel blessed to be a part of "the family". You all have been so welcoming and friendly...thank you! I believe this church body is posed to do something significant in Orange County. However, I don't think it will come without sacrifice. I believe God desires to do something special in our times of worship together. Our times of corporate worship are greatly influenced by our daily lifestyle of worship. Tom Kraeuter says it this way, "...the worship of the sanctuary is meaningless unless it is preceded by six days of worship as a way of life...In reality, our Sunday morning experience of worship should be the by-product of an entire week of worship unto the Lord" (Keys To Becoming An Effective Worship Leader). Just think of what our times of corporate worship will be like when we all grow in living a consistent lifestyle of worship! I believe the world will see this prophecy concerning Jesus manifested in us:Luke 4:17-19 ...bring good news to the poor...comfort the brokenhearted...proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. |

Frontline Men's MinistryMarch madness is very appropriate terminology to describe this month so far. It seems to have been one of the busiest months that I can remember. It is important that we remember to "not forsake the fellowshipping" with one another. Getting together with my brothers in Christ plays such an important role in my life and I can't let how busy I am control my decisions on fellowship.
To get you men up to speed on the Frontline Men's Ministry calendar, we meet every Thursday morning at Cinnamon Productions at 6:30 am for good food and fellowship.
We are having our next Saturday morning men's breakfast at Tijeras Creek Golf Club on April 26th.
The time is from 8 am to 10 am and the cost is $10.
Signups will begin on Sunday, April 6th.
I look forward to seeing you all soon! |

The end of all things is at hand; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.
1 Peter 4:7 We are living in the era of Christ's return-the last days. Only the Father knows exactly how many days, years, decades or centuries are left. And, He desires us to live lives that are conducive to prayer so that our lives and prayers are as unceasing, natural and vital as deep cleansing restorative breath.
How do we do that? Peter writes here that we need to be of sound judgment and sober spirit. Sound judgment requires the right information. Is my life informed by the Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit? Sober means unimpaired. Am I impaired by wrong thinking, substance abuse, or intoxicated by having imbibed too much of whatever the world has to offer?
Prayer is what our spirit breathes to the Lord. Are your airways unobstructed?Author: Shawn Schmaltz |
