Frontline Men's MinistryWow, what a great resurrection day celebration at the church on Sunday!  There is a great sense of excitement about what our Lord is doing in our midst.  I want to encourage all of the men to get connected both in men's ministry events and with serving the church body.  Men of God make a difference and that means God is calling you to have an effect on your family, your church family, and the body of Christ as a whole.  Upcoming men's events include our next Saturday morning men's breakfast in April and our next MHCC Grand Prix in May.  Don't forget about our Thursday morning fellowship at Cinnamon Productions that starts at 6:30 am.  I know it is only March, but I want you to mark your calendar for the first weekend in October to attend our fall men's retreat.  The dates are October 3rd, 4th, & 5th.God bless all of you!

Now what?Good Friday gives way to Easter and we celebrate the empty tomb.  He is really risen! Now what? The days and weeks after our glorious celebration of life from death seem to stretch over the horizon in an uninterrupted march of sameness.  Or do they?  Something is different today. This weekend we have been touched by something...by Someone...who wants to release in you and me that same power that raised Jesus from the dead. Now what?  Resurrection power!  Today, tomorrow.  There's power to endure and overcome and thrive.  Today, tomorrow, everyday.Peace, beloved.Pastor Mike

Congregational Care Notes
With Pastor Larry Owen

I have a little book on my desk I've had for 40 years by Amy Carmichael, simply titled, IF.
"IF I can write an unkind letter, speak an unkind word, think and unkind thought without grief and shame, then I know nothing of Calvary love."

"IF souls can suffer alongside, and I hardly know it, because the spirit of discernment is not in me, then I know nothing of Calvary love."

"IF there be any reserve in my giving to Him who so loved that He gave His Dearest for me; if there be a secret "but" in my prayer, "anything but that, Lord," then I know nothing of Calvary love."
Change me, Lord, to love with Calvary love.

Weekly Devotional"And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses."Mark 11: 25 (NKJV)Two things occur to me when I think about this scripture verse. The first is the realization that our prayers are not effective if we harbor an evil feeling in our hearts towards someone. Jesus taught us the same concept in the Lord's Prayer: "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors." (Matthew 6:12) Forgiveness is obviously an essential first step before we come to the Lord in prayer. If we still carry the memory of some hurt, insult or injustice that we experienced from someone else, and have not released that to His divine care, then our hearts cannot be fully oriented towards Him as we pray. Instead, that hardness of heart will block our full communication with our Father. The second lesson I take from this verse is that prayer is a means of reaching that desired state of complete forgiveness. The verse begins "whenever you stand praying", which implies that as we approach the Lord in prayer, the Spirit tends to remind us of those things we have failed to set straight in our lives. Perhaps one of the powers of prayer derives from just this, that the very act of prayering is, in fact, a means for us to reach a deeper level of forgiveness and love. In Matthew 18:22-35, Jesus teaches about the Unforgiving Servant. This foolish servant was forgiven great debts he could not pay, yet he failed in turn to forgive those who owed him debts. As we come to the Lord in prayer, our attitude must be one of great humility, remembering always the unpayable debt we owed that was wiped clean by our Master, and releasing those who deserve our forgiveness. Such forgiveness is the way of love. "Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." (I John 4:11)Author: David Busdeicker
