Weekly Devotion"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." (Matt. 21:22)

Prayer is the easy part. I set aside some time at some point in my day to talk with my Lord, and that is exactly what I do, talk. Once I got over that stronghold of just talking to God and not trying to make it sound like some overqualified dissertation that He grades on a scale, praying became intuitive. But now the difficult part: BELIEVING.
It is one thing to ask of another to do something for you. It is another thing to actually believe that they will follow through. We believe in a God that is not seen by our human eyes. Our Christian walk is based on faith, and at least for me, believing in something you cannot see is sometimes hard. After reading this passage over and over, it becomes evident that it doesn't take immense knowledge to comprehend the simple task of believing. "If you believe, you will receive." No reading between the lines, no fine print, just believe. Believe that God is listening to our every thought and that in His time our prayers will be answered according to His purpose. How comforting to know that He is always listening and is always aware of our circumstances.
